Being raised in the church, Popin has quite a diverse history in music. His Mom (a former choir director) influenced his younger years as a concert pianist, learning the classics of Mozart, Bach & Beethoven. This mixed with the old standard hymns & spiritual songs of the church was his base. On his way to Julliard in his teens, his love for soul music, R&B, funk and gospel music pulled him a different direction. He soon found himself producing beats with classical piano and working under a well known R&B/Funk producer in NYC. The sound and culture of soul music seemed to connect with him like none other. It moved him and told a story, a real life story. Being influenced by such artists as Fred Hammond, Kirk Franklin, Richard Smallwood, Israel Houghton, John P. Kee, Tye Tribbett and others allowed him to blend a diverse sound together to help find his own sound and to also do something he really loved to do, use music as a way to encourage others. As life began to further unfold, his life story became his own testimony. The ups and downs, twists and turns and unexpected trials. Learning how to deal with it and how to pivot is important. So many of my songs started as a word of encouragement for myself and later became theme songs for others.

With a calling and a heart to inspire, encourage, touch and change lives through his music, Bryan Popin has been doing just that; and doing that for quite some time. In 1996 his music ministry was first established, now 27+ years later he has been living his same purpose, possibly packaged in a different way or sound. Over the years, his ministry has been privileged to witness thousands upon thousands of people give their hearts to Jesus Christ & even thousands more rededicate their lives to Him with a deeper passion than before. I’m so grateful He continues to rescue me and love me, even though I don’t feel I deserve it.”

We at Team Popin usually like to schedule an event 3 – 4 months in advance, but understand this is not always possible. If there is an immediate or specific date that you are interested in, we will certainly do our best to make it available to you. Sometimes we are able to fill in another event if BP’s schedule allows. Ultimately, with good counsel, it is always Popin’s decision. With good communication from all parties involved on the front end, we can most times help to make all things work out.

Recently, we have been scheduling LIVE virtual events as well as normal LIVE in-person events. This is an option as well and someone would be more than happy to speak with you via the phone or eMail.

Bryan Popin works on an individual basis with each request. We will do everything possible to work you in regards to finances, as Bryan’s heart is ministry-focused and he has been in full time music ministry now for 27+ years. It is understood that just as he wants to be a blessing to you, not a financial burden, it is agreed that you as well want to be a good steward of his time, his family, his team and the monthly budget/needs of his music ministry.

Popin is based out of Nashville, TN. Sometimes in his travels, he may be closer to you than you thought. We have had many situations in the past where we creatively found a way to get BP and his team to a particular city in a timely manner. Some events require a full team with BP and others only require BP and his drummer. Sometimes, BP is willing to work with your team and other times it is just not the best option.The best thing is good communication.

As keys are mainly BP’s voice, he usually likes to travel with his own custom red keyboard that has all of his sounds & presets built into it as it is most familiar to him. We normally will ship his keyboard via FedEx to the event/church the day before his setup & sound check. Sometimes, if he is willing, it may be more convenient to use your church’s piano or keyboard. We can figure this out on the front end so both parties can be prepared as to what instrument(s) will be needed, ready & available. If you have a keyboard or will be providing a keyboard for BP, please make sure it is a full keyboard with 88 weighted keys and a sustain pedal is available. If you have a piano, please make sure it has recently been tuned, within a few days. If we will be shipping BP’s custom keyboard, we will provide you with a tracking # & confirm the correct shipping address.

Absolutely!

BP normally travels with at the least his drummer. If you would like to involve your team (musicians/singers/choir) and have them join BP LIVE, he is all for it and yes this is possible. We can send you a song set and provide you an online link to access music charts and lyrics. We will also provide your team with “BP’s Online Rehearsal Player” which will give all involved access to his exact set list and the arrangements that he plans to do LIVE with your team via a link/password that can be accessed from any phone or device. This is an incredible tool to allow everyone involved to rehearse on their own time and be familiar and ready for BP!
